The French authorities aim to modernise the operation of the Paris M├ętro by deploying new technological innovations into its system.

The transportation authorities of Paris currently have 180 projects to test the application of new technologies. One of these projects focuses on the use of the Eliot 2 inspection drone to perform inspections of elevated assets, or access and visualize equipment difficult for humans or other machines to reach.

The project hopes that with the use of drones metro inspections will become more cost-effective, safer and faster. The drones are already tested at 170 sites.
