Joby Aviation aims to become the first eVTOL airline in the US

Joby Aviation has announced that it has begun the process to receive a Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

This certificate is required for Joby to operate air taxi services in the US. The company aims to achieve this certification by 2022.

After receiving the Part 135 Air Carrier Certificate the company will have to receive a Type Certificate and Production Certificate to begin its air taxi services in 2024.
