CAE and Volocopter aim to create the air taxi pilot workforce of tomorrow

The two companies will launch their pilot training program to form the air taxi pilots of the future globally.

It is estimated, that the air taxi industry will create a surge in demand for pilots and around 60 000 new pilots will be needed in the first decade of air taxi operations. The CAE will expand its training network with a $40 million investment to meet the projected demand for eVTOL drivers. The company will use its advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence and virtual reality to help the training of the air taxi pilots.

Volocopter aims to launch its first eVTOL services with the VoloCity in 2024.
