Sceye has successfully tested its stratospheric HAPS (high-altitude platform station) UAV reaching an altitude of 19 500 m.

The company has received financial support from the State of New Mexico to pilot the delivery of universal broadband access to the Navajo Nation. According to the Navajo Tribal Utility Authority, 60% of the Navajo Nation’s over 300,000 residents do not have fixed Internet access.

In order to provide better access to Internet, Sceye will pilot one of its HAPS UAVs over an area of approximately 15 500 square kilometers to demonstrate 100 Mbps download speeds to homes, schools and clinics in Navajo Nation.
