Emergency response drill used UAS to integrate drones into emergency response

For the first time in New Jersey, the emergency response drill used unmanned drones to enable the integration of drones into emergency response and to maximize first responder support after an emergency.

During the simulation, the emergency responders tested the use of drones after a category five hurricane. The drones could be used to gather information and provide emergency personnel with real-time mapping of damaged areas, evacuation routes, utility lines and people after hurricanes.
