Three US Senators, Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.), Bill Cassidy (R-La.), and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), aim to create a comprehensive federal law to criminalise the dangerous use of drones.
The illegal deployment of drones has been on the rise in the US, especially on the southern borders. Human traffickers and drug cartels are increasingly using drones for illegal activities.
The current drone law does not cover many areas of dangerous drone activities. The proposed federal law by the three Senators would further limit dangerous drone applications and increase fines in the hope to counter the illegal and dangerous use of drones.
