Medical delivery drone saved the life of a man in Sweden

| |

Last month Everdrone’s autonomous drone delivered a defibrillator, saving the life of a 71-year-old Swedish man. The man suffered a heart attack while shovelling snow in his driveway in the city of Trollhättan.

The fast delivery of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) by the drone to the scene saved the life of the man, who was transported to the hospital after the on-site treatment.

Around 275000 patients in Europe suffer from cardiac arrest annually. Since the chance of survival decreases by 7-10% with each minute following the cardiac arrest, the survival rate of cardiac arrest patients is only 10%.

The medical delivery drone of Everdrone enables the fast delivery of defibrillators which could significantly increase the survival rate of cardiac arrest patients.
