Walmart will provide drone delivery for non-Walmart retailers under GoLocal platform

| |

Walmart will provide its newly announced Walmart GoLocal platform to enable small local shops to arrange local drone deliveries with the retail company.

Walmart currently offers express delivery services for more than 160 000 items and can reach nearly 70% of the US population from around 3000 of its stores. Now the company aims to offer its GoLocal delivery service for local shops.

Whenever a customer would place an order with a business using the GoLocal delivery service, Walmart would be notified as well. Walmart would dispatch a drone to deliver the item. The platform will be supported by Walmart’s partner, DroneUp which provides numerous drone services across the US.

The platform would enable smaller shops to advance their delivery services.
