ANA and Seven-Eleven will complete drone deliveries in Japan

All Nippon Airways (ANA) and Seven-Eleven Japan have formed a new agreement to conduct drone deliveries in Japan.

ANA’s main responsibilities will be to establish the drone operation system, including the selection of the drone and the improvement of communication stability related to drone operation. Seven-Eleven Japan will be adjusting its product delivery service 7Now, deciding which products will be subject to customer delivery by drone.

Like most other drone delivery initiatives in Japan, this one is also focusing on creating services for remote island communities and for those who live in isolated mountain regions.

The two firms expect to begin practical tests of the system in Fukuoka city this autumn and are aiming for a nationwide launch by 2025.
