Airspeeder and Alauda Aeronautics have been working to create the world’s first electric flying race cars since 2019.
This year, Airspeeder will host the EXA racing series, which will be the first flying car race series. The main aim of the series is to develop crewed flying car races. For the first races, the best three pilots were selected from 1500 candidates. The successful applicants were selected because of their excellent piloting skills and their contribution to the sport and technology.
The three pilots, Emily Duggan, Zephatali Walsh and Fabio Tischler will log over 2,000 hours in Alauda’s Aeronautics 6-DoF VR simulator before competing. The simulator mimics the Alauda Airspeeder’s Mk4 aircraft.
